Privacy Policy

Claroo AI is a research and information service. Privacy enquiries go to privacy@clarooai.com.

• Account data. Email address, name, a password hash, and billing identifiers held by our payment processor.
• Financial account data. Institution name, account type, holdings, cost basis and transaction history, obtained through SnapTrade or Plaid with your explicit authorisation.
• User-generated data. Questions you ask, notes, watchlists and alert rules.
• Usage and device data. Aggregate analytics, IP address and user agent. Our site analytics are cookieless.
• Communications. Anything you send us by email or through the contact form.

Directly from you when you create an account or enter positions; from your brokerage via an aggregator when you authorise a connection; and automatically through ordinary use of the service.

Brokerage connections are established through SnapTrade or Plaid. Their own privacy policies govern the connection itself. Credentials are handled by the aggregator and are never received or stored by Claroo. We request read-only scopes and never request trading permissions.

• To provide the service you signed up for — building coverage, generating briefs, answering questions (contract performance).
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and debug failures (legitimate interests).
• To bill you, where you are on a paid plan (contract performance).
• To send product updates, where you have asked for them (consent, withdrawable at any time).

This section matters more than usual for a product like this, so it is stated plainly.

• Your portfolio holdings and your questions are processed by large language models in order to generate research outputs.
• Public filing text, transcripts and news are processed the same way. That material is not personal data.
• Your data is not used to train third-party models.
• Model outputs are retained alongside your account so that briefs and answers remain available to you, and are deleted when you delete your account.

We do not sell your data. The vendors below process data on our behalf.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA and CPRA. We run no advertising and no ad-tech on this site.

• Account data: for as long as your account exists, then deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Financial account data: deleted immediately when you disconnect a brokerage connection or delete your account.
• Generated briefs and answers: retained per your plan’s archive limit, then deleted.
• Billing records: retained as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
• Server logs: retained for a short operational window, with IP addresses hashed rather than stored in the clear.

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to opt out of any sale or sharing. You can export or delete everything from Settings without emailing anyone. For anything the product cannot do for you, write to privacy@clarooai.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is least-privilege, and brokerage credentials never reach us. The full detail is on the Security page.

The service is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

We set a session cookie when you are signed in. Our analytics are cookieless and aggregate. hCaptcha sets its own cookies on pages with a form, for bot prevention.

We will update the date at the top of this page when it changes, and email account holders before any change that materially reduces your rights.
